Program Overview
The Facilitator Skills Certification Program (FSCP) transforms trainers from content deliverers to learning architects—professionals who design and facilitate experiences that produce behavior change, not just knowledge transfer.
Most train-the-trainer programs teach presentation skills. FSCP builds facilitation capability—the judgment to adapt in real-time, the design sense to create experiences that stick, and the coaching ability to develop learners.
The Problem This Solves
- Training with great feedback that doesn't change behavior
- Product experts who struggle to engage learners
- Learning that works in classroom but doesn't transfer to production
- Inconsistent training quality across trainers
- High performers who can't explain what they do differently
Program Architecture
Day 1: Foundations of Learning Architecture
Morning: Learning science foundations - how adults actually learn, cognitive load theory, retention curves, learning theory integration (behaviorism, cognitivism, constructivism)
Afternoon: Facilitator mindset shift - from "sage on stage" to "guide on side," diagnostic observation, facilitation style audit
Practice: Microteaching session with peer feedback and self-assessment
Day 2: Design That Transfers
Morning: Instructional design essentials - Bloom's Taxonomy, Gagné's 9 Events, ADDIE model, performance-predicting learning objectives
Afternoon: Practice architecture - 70% practice ratio, scenario design, feedback design, assessment that predicts production
Practice: Module redesign challenge with peer review and facilitation
Day 3: Facilitation Techniques
Morning: Engagement architecture - critical first 5 minutes, energy management, question techniques, discussion facilitation
Afternoon: Advanced facilitation - managing resistance, handling disruption, real-time adaptation, time management
Practice: Microteaching with intentional challenges and structured feedback
Day 4: Coaching Integration
Morning: Trainer as coach - shifting from telling to developing, spotting coachable moments, the 5-minute coaching conversation
Afternoon: Feedback mastery - SBI framework, difficult conversations, turning wrong answers into learning moments
Practice: Live coaching simulations with immediate feedback
Day 5: Integration & Certification
Morning: Design practice - create 30-minute learning experience applying all principles
Afternoon: Certification demonstrations - facilitate your designed experience, peer and expert assessment, certification decision
Post-Workshop: 30-Day Application
Week 1-2: Apply techniques in real training, document observations and challenges
Week 3: 1-on-1 coaching session reviewing application and refining practice
Week 4: Final integration - submit evidence of applied capability, certification confirmation
Expected Outcomes
Facilitation Quality
Consistent demonstration of judgment-centered facilitation techniques across all certified trainers
Training Transfer
Improved classroom-to-production performance translation measured in learner outcomes
Design Capability
Ability to redesign existing content for practice-forward, transfer-oriented delivery
Coaching Integration
Trainers functioning as capability developers, not just content deliverers
Certification Requirements
